Approaches to the Study of the Functioning of the Complex of Creative Industries in the Economy

The increase in the share of creative industries in the GDP of the Russian Federation up to 6% over the last year indicates the need to determine a methodological basis for studying these industries. The currently prevailing sectoral approach does not allow to give details of the internal connections of the creative industries and, accordingly, does not contribute to the unambiguous determination of the object and subject of this research. Formulation of the scientific research problem. Sectoral analysis and calculation of a set of general economic indicators does not allow to take into account the nature of relations between participants in creative industries and the complexity of the formation of a creative product. Well-known metrics, including quantitative and structural analysis of organizations according to the codes of All-Russian Classifier of Types of Economic Activity (RCEAP), calculations of value added and marginality level do not allow to obtain comparable results for all kinds of activities classified as creative industries. In this regard, the scientific task of the study was formulated consisting of identifying approaches to understanding the functioning of creative industries from the point of economic activity, allowing to overcome the identified limitations. Results achieved. The complex of creative industries, operating in a constantly modifying structure of collaborations, creative projects, acts of short-term cooperation between organizations and individual participants, theoretically represents a network structure and can be most fully studied within the context of the existing network methodology. The development of network analysis makes it possible to study the functioning of creative industries as a set of entities acting in a complementary manner. Conclusions. Understanding the complex of creative industries as a network structure allows to consistently solve the problem of determining the composition and structure of a creative network, determine the parameters of participants based on the possibilities of dominance, coordination of networks participants, as well as define the nature of connections between participants in a creative networks and calculate the indicators that determine the features of the formation of consumer value, and correlate with certain parts of the creative network, which will ultimately make it possible to determine the most effective tools for stimulating the development of network structures of industries and increase the benefits of their formation within regional and national economies
