The article examines the journalistic activities of Soviet writers who lived in the city of Pushkin (formerly Tsarskoye Selo) in the pre-war years. The publications on the pages of the regional newspaper "Bolshevistskoye slovo" were selected as the research material. Writers (A. N. Tolstoy, V. Ya. Shishkov, A. R. Belyaev, Yu. N. Tynyanov and others) actively collaborated with the local newspaper, participating in the discussion of topical issues of socio-political life, coming up with their own projects and proposals for preserving the cultural heritage of the city and organizing educational work among its residents, as well as publishing their literary works (short stories, excerpts from novels). Since many documents related to the writers' lives were lost during the Nazi occupation of the city, the newspaper publications preserved in the files are of great interest to researchers.
