The article examines the artistic image of Professor Preobrazhensky from the story by M.A. Bulgakov’s “A dog’s heart” as a model personality in modeling the linguocultural type “doctor-surgeon”. As a result of the study, significant characteristics of the value, figurative and conceptual components of the linguocultural type “doctor-surgeon” in the national linguistic picture of the world were identified using the example of the artistic image of Professor Preobrazhensky. The figurative characteristics are considered as a combination of a literary work and a film version. The conceptual characteristic is analyzed as a synonymous series, the semantic dominant of which is the lexeme “professor”. The dominant components of the value characteristics highlight the idea of the character as a scientist who not only makes a discovery, but also bears full responsibility for its result, and also as a representative of the intelligentsia, which was formed in pre-revolutionary Russia.
