Described herein is a chemoselective gem-dihalocyclopropanation of 1,3-enynes by the utilization of Cs2CO3 as a base to promote the gem-dihalocarbenes species generation, providing an efficient synthetic approach to various tetrasubstituted cyclopropanes. The present protocol with excellent functional group tolerance, scalability, as well as versatile transformation of the products.
