One of the more challenging types of calculations that undergraduate STEM majors, including chemistry students face early on in their coursework is that of mastering acid-base chemistry. This manuscript describes a simplified visual method for introducing the basic types of acid (or base) calculations to the struggling STEM student with a weak mathematics background. Sample calculations are included, and limitations are discussed.
