ABSTRACT With the legalization of cannabis in Germany since April 2024, unintentional exposure to cannabis products in children is increasingly relevant. We report on a 5‐year‐old female patient who presented to the emergency department with central nervous symptoms (somnolence, hallucinations, myoclonus) after consumption of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)‐containing gummy bears. A rapid drug test was positive for THC, and the suspicion that the patient had consumed an edible product could ultimately be confirmed after a comprehensive and repeated investigation of the background history. The patient was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit.
