This article examines distance graduate programs in Paraguay as part of a comparative study with other Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) countries, conducted before the Covid-19 pandemic. The analysis of Paraguay highlights the early-stage development of distance graduate education, which remains limited compared to in-person offerings. The study found a lack of specific regulations for implementing distance programs. In terms of evaluation and accreditation, the experience is still recent, and no distance graduate programs have yet been formally evaluated—an important challenge for advancing the field.
