Abstract

Darzens condensations of 2,2,2‐trifluoroacetophenones with α‐fluoroindanones were developed. A variety of tetrasubstituted α,β‐epoxyketones were constructed using this protocol in moderate to good yields (up to 76%), with moderate to excellent diastereoselectivities (up to 94:6 dr).
