Aruba’s education system faces a sociolinguistic tension between Papiamento and Dutch. This presentation shows the results from a concluded policy analysis and from a preliminary analysis of interviews with teachers in secondary education. The analysis substantiates a call for policy frameworks that honor linguistic justice and reflect the needs of teachers and pupils.
