Joanna Chikwe is the Irina and George Schaeffer Distinguished Chair in Cardiac Surgery and Chair of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Smidt Heart Institute. She specializes in robotic and minimally invasive cardiac surgery with a focus on valve repairs and coronary procedures. Previously, she served as a professor and cardiothoracic surgeon at Mount Sinai in New York.
