Abstract

The study evaluates the impact that AI has on social media Content customization, automated moderation, targeted advertising, and chatbots comprise applications that use the support of machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision as part of an extensive list of tools. Improved artificial intelligence delivering personalized content, and raising the bar on overall user experience brings with it major ethical and social challenges. Fundamentally at its heart lies privacy invasion leading to data breaches and digital manipulation that threatens user freedom and democracy. This paper shall analyze through case studies and legislations such as GDPR from EU and CCPA from U.S., which control the use of AI in the digital space, that future innovation would require explain ability, ethics by design, strong governance of AI. The report therefore intends to bring out some other areas where AI can offer help like mental health, education, or access to new technologies. The social, open, and friendly media platform can only deliver the AI benefits in education and mental health absent solid multidiscipline governance, according to the study.
