Psoriasis, a noncontagious inflammatory skin disorder, presents as erythematous, rounded plaques covered by silvery scale. Its chronic nature profoundly impacts patient’s psychological and social well-being, similar to other chronic diseases such as Depression and Hypertension. Based on clinical presentation, it can be correlated with Ekakushtha (~Psoriasis), mentioned in Ayurveda. Despite its ancient recognition, research on its cause and treatment remains inadequate. Ayurveda offers herbs with proven efficacy, yet its multifaceted etiology requires a comprehensive treatment approach. In this clinical study, a 35-year-old female patient presented with the characteristic symptoms of Psoriasis, including extensive reddish patches, severe itching, and moderate scaling, predominantly affecting her forehead, upper limbs, back of neck, and back of right ear (mastoid area). Following consultation, the patient underwent a treatment regimen rooted in Ayurvedic principles, incorporating both Shamana chikitsa (~pacifying therapy) and Shodhana chikitsa (~bio-cleansing therapy). Over the course of treatment, the patient got significant relief without any side effects, and there was no recurrence of symptoms reported even after one year of the halted treatment. This successful outcome underscores the efficacy and safety of Ayurveda interventions in managing Psoriasis, aligning with the holistic approach of addressing underlying imbalances in the body’s constitution.
