Tech-Narrative in the Age of Technology: Representing Non-human Characters in 3000 Years of Longing

This study analyzes 3000 Years of Longing from the perspective of anthropomorphism, which is a literary mode to represent the interactions between human and various non-human characters. 3000 Years of Longing is the story of the non-human character Djinn's adaptation to technological civilization and his supernatural communication and entanglement with human characters. Through repeated imprisonments and oblivions, Djinn takes part in the story of human evolution. In the narrative transition from the mythological to the scientific mysteries, Djinn is revealed as an energy model optimization system, simulacre of desire, and the temporality and randomness of existence. The simulated world of Djinn is the virtuality of instantaneous generation, appearing and disappearing as fleeting events and images for 3000 years. Alithea and Djinn search for the ultimate of the universe with the view of tech-animistic interconnectedness by breaking the boundaries among species and creating tech-narratives.
