This study examines the relevance of entrepreneurs to the recycle (circular) market in Nigeria, with a specific focus on the role of Waste Bin or Recycling Entrepreneurs. As Nigeria faces increasing challenges related to waste management, unemployment, and environmental degradation, entrepreneurial activities within the recycle market have emerged as a critical mechanism for economic and environmental sustainability. The study conceptualizes entrepreneurs as agents who identify opportunities within waste streams, mobilize resources, and transform recyclable materials into economic value. By integrating primary data and theoretical perspectives, the research highlights how different types of entrepreneurs—particularly recycling-focused entrepreneurs—contribute to job creation, income generation, innovation, and the advancement of the circular economy. The study also introduces and applies Akinwale E. A.’s (2026) definition of entrepreneur and the classification of Waste Bin or Recycling Entrepreneurs, thereby expanding the existing entrepreneurship literature and situating the recycle market as a viable pathway for sustainable development in Nigeria.
