This repository contains the datasets generated and/or analyzed in the current study, as well as the workflows used to curate, harmonize, and analyze the Global Biotic Interactions (GloBI) database, with a focus on bee–plant interactions. We provide pipelines for validating the GloBI dataset and for identifying its geographical and taxonomic biases. In line with the FAIR principles, we enhanced the data to be more Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable, thereby increasing its value for future research. The current dataset includes 981, 982 bee–plant interaction records, covering 5, 537 bee species and 12, 699 plant taxa (11, 163 at the species level and 1, 536 at the genus level) based on the Global Bee Interaction Data v 7. 0. The main dataset (GloBICurated) provides information on taxonomy, geographic coordinates of the records, and endemism status for both bees and plants. The dataset has been taxonomically harmonized and can be easily interconnected with other metadata sources and checklists (for more details, see https: //doi. org/10. 22541/au. 175822523. 37965920/v1). In addition, several review datasets are provided, which quantitatively represent the potential taxonomic, geographical, and phylogenetic biases present in the main dataset. These review datasets will help future studies properly account for these knowledge gaps in their study design.
