Global demand for food is increasing because of climate change. A nation is required to provide the affordability, availability, quality, safety, sustainability and adaptability. For Indonesia, food and energy face significant challenges as the population is projected to reach 305.7 million by 2035. This growth will drive increase food consumption while land for food production remains limited availability. Implementing innovative sustainable agricultural practice is critical for securing Indonesia’s food supply. This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) evaluates the electrification of agriculture program by state owned electricity company in Indonesia as a sustainable approach to enhance national food security. The reviews synthesize findings from several academic sources and journal articles, providing an analytical examination of the current state of electricity in Indonesian agriculture, challenges to its adoption, and its potential advantages for productivity, sustainability, and food security. The findings provide policy guidance for the government to implement electrifying agriculture as part of national strategy to secure sustainable food system in Indonesia.
