A 10-month-old male child with bilateral ankyloblepharon filiforme adnatum (AFA) had surgical separation of lids only in the right eye due to central attachment. The parents complained of mild congestion in the left eye, off and on, since birth. On slit lamp, diffuse punctate corneal erosion was noted in the left eye alone. As the child was unusually cooperative during examination without any photophobia, corneal sensation was checked in both eyes. It was normal in the right eye but absent in the left eye. Paramedian tarsorrhaphy was advised for the left eye in this case of unilateral congenital corneal anesthesia with bilateral AFA.
