This research ex[plores the complex interplay between politeness strategies and power dynamics in existwntial discourse, utilizing a qualitative research approach and critical discourse analysis (CDA) to examine naturally occurring conversations. Existential discourse, encompasses discussions about fundamental questions of human existence, meaning, and reality, presents a unique context for investigating politeness strategies and power dynamics. By analysing a corpus of existential conversations, this work reveals how interlocutors employ politeness strategies to negotiate power dynamics, maintain social relationships, and construct meaning in their interactions. The findings of this study contribute to a deper understanding of the social dynamics that shape existential discourse and have implications for various fields including communication studies, sociology, and philosophy.
