Abstract: Bony spur is a common foot condition that can significantly impair mobility and cause substantial discomfort in patients. Treatments such as analgesics and steroid injections have limited success in addressing the underlying issue, as they only provide temporary relief. Patients often continue to experience persistent pain and functional impairments despite continuous treatment efforts. This case study describes a 45-year-old female patient with a spur in the distal end of the second metatarsal of the left foot who initially received pain-relieving medication and physical therapy, which failed to fully alleviate her problems. High-voltage acetic acid iontophoresis, a therapy known to facilitate the dissolution of calcium deposits, was then employed as the treatment. This treatment completely resolved the patient’s symptoms. The findings of this case report contribute to the growing evidence supporting the use of acetic acid iontophoresis as a viable, noninvasive alternative to traditional treatment approaches for the foot spur.
