Abstract The author, Chief Executive Officer/CEO and Founder of Paravis Partners, notes that “today's leadership context is defined by uncertainty, speed, and complexity,” and also that “the ability to adapt, to see differently, and to respond flexibly begins with the beliefs you hold.” She notes that her years of coaching have led to the identification of seven limiting beliefs that she terms “hidden blockers.” They are: “I need to be involved.” “I need it done now.” “I know I'm right.” “I can't make a mistake.” “If I can do it, so can you.” “I can't say no.” “I don't belong here.” She also provides a “blocked to unblocked roadmap.” This comes in three stages (1) Uncover (2) Unpack (3) Unblock. Within stage one, in her words: realize you're blocked, and name your hidden blocker. In stage two, accept it, and deconstruct it. Stage three: reframe your belief, and take action. Regarding these six points: “It's important that you complete the steps in order, as each one builds upon the last.” She concludes that “by surfacing your hidden blockers, unpacking their origins, and deliberately unblocking from them through new beliefs and intentional behaviors, you can transform your entire leadership experience.”
