Background: Intracardiac thromboembolism is an infrequently reported phenomenon which may arise in a range of clinical contexts including severe ischaemic and valvular heart disease as well as cardiac arrhythmia. 1 Right-sided cardiac thrombus, specifically, may result in life-threatening pulmonary embolism and paradoxical stroke. 2 Sepsis and disseminated intravascular coagulopathy may further potentiate thrombus formation.
