Key Points

  • To explore a new design for precast concrete pavement that minimizes settlement issues without traditional connections.
  • Utilized a steel plate for load distribution during pavement installation.
  • Examined a structural approach with connectors at the four corners of panels.
  • Conducted finite element modeling (FEM) for structural analysis.
  • Performed repeated load testing on full-scale models simulating heavy truck loads.
  • No significant cracking or elevation differences observed in the pavement.
  • The proposed structure shows promise as a viable pavement system.
  • Settlements were effectively controlled, indicating potential durability.
