Geared toward primary care providers, this article focuses on cancer survivorship-related mental health considerations for adolescent and young adult cancer survivors. Risk factors for psychological distress and assessment considerations are discussed. Additionally, the concept of cancer as a trauma, the impact of cancer on identity development, and management of psychological distress are explored.
