Key Points

  • The research aims to explore the relationship between epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) gene signatures and metastasis in synovial sarcoma (SS).
  • Analyzed gene expression signatures from primary tumor samples at diagnosis
  • Assessed correlation between EMT status and metastatic risk
  • Evaluated the potential of EMT as a biomarker for prognosis
  • Found significant correlation between mesenchymal gene signatures and increased metastatic risk
  • Identified EMT status as a potential prognostic biomarker for synovial sarcoma
  • Suggested that EMT could help tailor treatment and surveillance strategies

Abstract

This study demonstrates a correlation between mesenchymal gene expression signatures and increased metastatic risk in SS. EMT status, derived from primary tumor profiling at diagnosis, may serve as a potential prognostic biomarker. These findings support further investigation into EMT as a stratification tool for tailoring treatment intensity and surveillance strategies in SS.
