Introduction Stress-related disorders, such as depression, are linked to a bias for remembering negative events (memory bias). Directed forgetting involving the prefrontal cortex can intentionally reduce these memories, and studies suggest that exercise enhances this process by activating the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex. Therefore, the study aim was to examine the effects of acute exercise on directed forgetting.
