Al-Suyūṭī’s al-Jāmiʿ al-Ṣaghīr is renowned for its extensive collection of hadiths and for the symbols it contains, which attribute hadiths to their original sources or indicate rulings regarding their authenticity, excellence, or weakness. This study examines the judgment symbols in manuscript copies of al-Jāmiʿ al-Ṣaghīر for one hundred hadiths (nos. 1600–1701), aiming to verify the consistency of these rulings across different manuscripts and the accuracy of their attribution to al-Suyūṭī.The research employed the inductive method by surveying the selected hadiths in manuscript and printed copies as well as some commentaries; the descriptive-analytical method to read and describe the judgment symbols; and the comparative method to examine variations among copies.
