This contribution focuses on the position of assistants at the Faculty of Philosophy of the German University in Prague in 1930–1945. The author compares employment conditions during the Great Depression, before the Second World War, and after the German University in Prague was subsumed under Reich administration. Special attention is paid to the Institute for Classical Archaeology, Seminar for Philosophy, and the Seminar for German Philology in 1939–1945.
