In December 2025, the National Petroleum Council (NPC) presented Secretary of Energy Chris Wright with the results of a large study he had requested, on natural gas‐electric coordination. The 181‐page study was a monumental effort, managed and produced by teams totaling at least 100 senior professionals and executives spanning the gas and power industries, government, consulting firms, and, of course, the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB), which has been at the heart of gas‐electric coordination for at least two decades.
Richard G. Smead (Sat,) studied this question.
