Pt/Al Nanofoils In article number e01263, Heiko O. Jacobs and co-workers design a gas-phase electrodeposition process enabling local self-assembly of Pt and Al nanoparticles into linear bimetallic stacks. These films are ignited at one end, triggering a self-propagating alloying reaction. Reaction speed is shown to depend strongly on Pt/Al film morphology, with sharper interfaces yielding significantly faster kinetics.
