Metaverse performances have exposed their limitations through genre confusion between the unique identity of performance and the new identity of media content. Therefore, this study judged it necessary to set a differentiated direction for the sustainable development of metaverse performances. Accordingly, 'personal experience', which is commonly emphasized at the point of contact between performance and media content, was derived as an effective breakthrough, identifying 'hyper-personalization' as a core strategy to maximize personal experience. This study presented a ‘branching performance module’ as a way to realize such hyper-personalization, and two elements, ‘branching scenario’ and ‘3D artwork’ were selected as key components. In addition, as a result of designing and demonstrating the module by applying it to the metaverse musical project, it was confirmed that a branched performance was created in which the performance narrative and spatiotemporal elements changed according to the emotional flow and immersion of the audience. This means that metaverse performances can evolve into a 'Hyper-personalized performance model' that provides an optimized experience for each audience in real time, and the results derived through this study will serve as a meaningful research case for further research and commercialization of metaverse performances in the future.
