The tangent line method is a microphone array technique designed to generate an acoustical beam with an arc-shaped distribution. This method allows the arc length to be theoretically determined, enabling the system to focus not only on a specific direction but also on a specific distance for sound measurement. By steering the beam toward a target speaker, this technique has potential applications for speech enhancement in communication devices. In previous studies, experiments were conducted in an anechoic room, and polar patterns (directivity and distance attenuation characteristics) were evaluated. In the present study, experiments were conducted in a reverberation room, demonstrating the method’s effectiveness in suppressing the reverberation of the target speaker’s voice.
