The results of a study of the reaction of synthesis of few- layer graphene under conditions of self- propagating high-temperature synthesis are presented. The temperature effect of the reaction and the composition of the released gases are determined. It is established that the synthesis of few-layer graphene occurs in three stages: at the first stage, there is thermolysis of ammonium nitrate with the release of oxidizing gases (NO, N, O, NO); at the second stage; carbonization of cellulose, which acts as a precursor, occurs with the formation of some primitives; at the third stage, self- organization of the formed primitives to particles of few-layer graphene takes place.
