With method of elastic coherent scattering of neutrons, we investigated peculiarities of structural state and deformation-induced transformations in sheet austenitic steel of 20G20S2F (0.2C, 20Mn, 2Si, 1V, base Fe in wt %) grade with shape memory effect (SME). It is shown how the features of the technique of deformation of samples affect the course of martensitic transformations in them, which are responsible for the manifestations of SME. Also, the quantitative characteristics of the austenite and martensitic phases were determined by neutron diffraction methods, which was the main goal of this work.
