Investigation of the Karman Vortices’ Effect on Oscillations of Vane Sensitive Element of the Aerodynamic Angles Sensor

The critical importance of accurately measuring aerodynamic angles of incidence and slip for piloting, automatic control, flight safety of aircraft and other flying vehicles is substantiated. It is noted that one of the most common types of sensors for solving this problem is the aerodynamic angle vane sensor, construction of which varies by forms and parameters. It is established that during operation, in addition to external atmospheric disturbances, the aerodynamic angle vane sensor is adversely affected by the Karman vortices. Their formation is associated with the periodic flow separation from the adjacent streamlined surfaces of the vane. In this regard, the purpose of study is to develop the mathematical body for modeling and investigating the influence of the Karman vortices on the oscillatory processes of the vane sensitive element of the aerodynamic angle sensor. The obtained model is the basis for solving applied problems, such as detecting and reducing the amplitude of oscillations caused by the influence of Karman vortices.
