This paper introduces Existential Hypnotherapy as a novel treatment approach for Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), integrating evidence-based hypnotherapeutic techniques with clinically relevant existential principles. The growing evidence suggesting environmental factors significantly influence ADHD development supports interventions addressing both neurobiological and meaning-oriented dimensions of the condition. Hypnotherapy has demonstrated efficacy for attention regulation, with studies showing moderate effect sizes (d = 0.63) and enhanced durability of outcomes compared to other psychological treatments. However, existing approaches often focus primarily on symptom reduction without addressing existential concerns like authenticity, responsibility, and meaning that frequently arise for individuals with ADHD. This integration offers specific hypnotherapeutic techniques - phenomenological reframing, present-centered awareness induction, future self integration, authenticity anchoring, and body scan hypnosis - designed within a coherent theoretical framework. The proposed clinical protocol utilizes extended sessions structured to accommodate ADHD-related attention variability while systematically addressing both symptom management and existential dimensions. While empirical validation of this specific integration requires further research, the theoretical foundation and clinical methodology presented offer valuable resources for hypnotherapists working with ADHD clients. By reconceptualizing attention differences as modes of being with context-dependent advantages, this approach offers a balanced perspective that enhances treatment engagement while acknowledging the real challenges of ADHD.
