Association between thyroid function and 10-year cardiovascular disease risk of patients with diabetes: a cross-sectional study using KNHANES 2013–2014
Key Points
To investigate the relationship between thyroid function and cardiovascular disease risk in patients with diabetes.
Cross-sectional study design using KNHANES data from 2013-2014.
Participants included individuals with well-controlled diabetes.
TSH levels were measured and analyzed in relation to CVD risk.
Higher TSH levels may indicate increased cardiovascular disease risk.
The findings suggest monitoring TSH in diabetes patients could enhance risk assessment.
Abstract
Monitoring TSH levels in patients with well-controlled diabetes may provide additional information regarding the risk of CVD; however, prospective studies are needed to confirm the long-term prognostic value.
