Does lipid accumulation product (LAP) predict incident diabetes better than other adiposity measures?
Lipid accumulation product is a strong predictor of incident diabetes, outperforming BMI in young individuals but performing similarly to waist-to-hip and waist-to-height ratios.
LAP was a strong predictor of diabetes and in young individuals had better predictability than did BMI; it was, however, similar to WHpR and WHtR in prediction of incident diabetes.
