Achieving the effortless synthesis of energetic molecules remains coveted, which conforms to the application requirements. This study reports the synthesis of a novel triazolopyrimidine energetic molecule (2) via thermally induced denitrogenation and cyclization of a tetrazole precursor, followed by oxidation to yield 3. The two products both exhibit excellent thermostability. The work demonstrates the skeleton construction that converts an imino-bridged ring into a fused-ring structure, offering valuable insights for synthesizing fused-ring energetic molecules.
