To improve the development and testing efficiency of protection and control virtual devices and expand their application scenarios, this paper proposes the design and implementation of automated test cases for these devices. Firstly, a three-layer testing framework of "Protection and Control Virtual Device-Test Case-Test Task" was constructed. Then, several test cases were designed: setting test case based on device configuration, waveform playback test case by importing field recording files, protection characteristic test case (including overcurrent, differential, and distance) realized by configuring action characteristics, calculating fault injections, and judging action markers, and test tasks that integrate these test cases for automated testing. Finally, an example verification was conducted on an EHV line protection virtual device. The results show that the automated test cases designed in this paper can effectively improve the development and testing efficiency of protection and control virtual devices and expand their application scenarios.
