Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the support systems and challenges faced by senior entrepreneurs in South Korea. The research aims to identify effective strategies to enhance senior entrepreneurship and provide policy recommendations to support older adults in their entrepreneurial endeavors.Research design, data, and methodology: This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing in-depth interviews with senior entrepreneurs and stakeholders involved in entrepreneurship support. Data was collected from a diverse group of participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current support systems and identify gaps and opportunities. The methodology includes thematic analysis to extract key themes and insights from the interview data.Results: The study found that senior entrepreneurs face unique challenges, including access to finance, technological adaptation, and networking opportunities. Despite these challenges, there are success stories where tailored support programs have significantly contributed to the success of senior-run startups. The results highlight the importance of targeted support and resources specifically designed for senior entrepreneurs.Implications: The implications of this study suggest that policymakers and support organizations should develop and implement age-specific support programs that address the unique needs of senior entrepreneurs. This includes providing access to funding, technological training, and networking opportunities. By fostering a supportive environment, senior entrepreneurship can be a viable solution to economic challenges posed by an aging population.
