In February of 2025, the White House put unauthorized vape (e‐cigarette) enforcement on the back burner, instead putting Department of Justice efforts into immigration, a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report issued this month found. As a result, large numbers of counterfeit vapes continue to be sold in the United States.
