The introduction provides general information on the topic of this study, the results of which are technically divided into four parts but published as a single issue of the Paleontological Journal and effectively constitute a single monograph. Thus, the introduction constitutes the first part of this monograph. It presents data explaining the relevance of the work, and the current state of knowledge of the crinoid assemblage of the Neverovo Formation in the Moscow Basin, as well as setting out the publication’s structure.
