This editorial reviews cutting-edge advancements and trends in the field of biometrics in four dimensions—novel sensors, modalities, algorithms, and equipment—as well as summarizes the contributions to this Special Issue, “New Trends in Biometric Sensing and Information Processing” by grouping them into the corresponding aspects of breakthroughs in this field.
