This presentation introduces the HIFIS.net website, newsletter, and blog, and reflects on the advantages and limitations of a “do-it-yourself” (DIY) approach to building and maintaining a collaborative web platform. It covers the structure of the HIFIS.net codebase repository, publication workflows, some statistics, as well as practical insights from operating the website through the Helmholtz Codebase over several years.
