Abstract

The paper presents the best preserved of the four terracotta protomai found recently in a secondary deposit in Porphyreon (Jiyeh, Lebanon). A detailed stylistic analysis indicates that the described protoma combined the Phoenician and Greek art traditions of the Persian /Archaic period.
