To discuss complications arising from gynaecological laparoscopy surgery and the role of ECMO therapy.
Case report of a gynaecological laparoscopy surgery
Patient presented with CO2 embolism, cardiac arrest, and severe ARDS
Treatment included extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) therapy.
Cardiac arrest and severe ARDS developed post-surgery
Patient required ECMO therapy due to refractory hypoxia
Favorable outcome was achieved after ECMO intervention.
Abstract
E complicated by severe ARDS with refractory hypoxia requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) therapy, which resulted in a favourable outcome.
