Bupleurum komarovianum is distributed in northeastern China and has occasionally been used as a substitute for the official Radix Bupleuri due to its morphological similarity and comparable pharmacologically active constituents. To facilitate its accurate identification, the complete chloroplast genome of B. komarovianum was assembled and annotated, followed by phylogenetic analysis. The chloroplast genome is 155,835 bp in length, with a GC content of 37.70%, and exhibits a typical quadripartite structure. A total of 128 genes were annotated, including 84 protein-coding genes, 36 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. In addition, 49 simple sequence repeats were identified, mainly mononucleotide repeats. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that B. komarovianum is most closely related to B. falcatum and B. boissieuanum. These results provide genomic resources for species identification and phylogenetic studies in Bupleurum.
