PURPOSE Caregivers of adults with cancer face significant emotional and practical challenges. Digital tools may enhance caregiver preparedness and self-efficacy; however, few are developed through rigorous, user-centered approaches that reflect caregivers' lived experiences and needs. The purpose of this study was to develop and refine a prototype of MyCare 2 , a comprehensive web-based intervention designed to support caregivers in managing care-related tasks and promote their physical and psychosocial well-being. METHODS We used an iterative, user-centered qualitative design to guide prototype development. In phase I, the needs assessment, caregivers (n = 8), patients (n = 8), and clinicians (n = 6) participated in focus groups to identify caregiving challenges and desired features. In phase II, wireframe testing, a second sample of patient-caregiver dyads (n = 4 dyads) reviewed low-fidelity mockups and provided feedback. In phase III, prototype testing, a third sample of patient-caregiver dyads (n = 5 dyads) interacted with a functional prototype and evaluated its usability and relevance. We analyzed feedback using content analysis and integrated findings across phases. RESULTS Participants emphasized the need for accessible, centralized tools to coordinate care, track and manage medications, report symptoms, access educational materials, communicate with clinicians, and access tailored emotional and social support. Iterative refinements led to the addition of (1) an interactive dashboard for task management, (2) symptom and medication tracking modules, and (3) stress management and self-care resources. Participants reported improved perceived usefulness and ease of navigation in later iterations. CONCLUSION Through iterative stakeholder engagement, MyCare 2 was developed as a caregiver-centered, web-based intervention addressing both caregiving tasks and well-being. Next steps include evaluating usability, acceptability, and feasibility of efficacy testing in diverse populations to inform implementation in oncology and palliative care settings.
