Abstract Organic waste generation continues to pose major environmental challenges, including greenhouse gas emissions, soil and water contamination, and resource depletion. Here, we highlight how intelligent biomanufacturing integrating engineered microbes, waste-derived feedstocks, green extraction techniques, and AI-driven optimisation can convert diverse organic residues into high-value PHA bioplastics. This approach offers sustainable production pathways, eco-friendly recovery strategies, and data-driven process optimisation within a circular bioeconomy framework to support scalable, low-impact bioplastic manufacture.
