Abstract

Inferior phrenic artery aneurysms (IPAAs) are extremely rare, with only 17 reported cases.Most were diagnosed following ruptured, and developed secondary to trauma, surgery, or pancreatitis.We report a case of asymptomatic unruptured IPAA treated with endovascular therapy.A 73-year-old man without a history of laparotomy, trauma, or pancreatitis was pointed out a 6.8 mm saccular IPAA incidentally on computed tomography angiography in a comprehensive health checkup.Coil embolization was successfully performed without complications.Given the rarity of IPAAs, a gold standard therapy has not been established.However, endovascular therapy appears to be a safe and effective treatment option.
